The late Jeff Hanneman is receiving a special tribute. The founding Slayer guitarist is being remembered with a street sign in southern Poland.
Poland's CentrumDruku3D.pl says two fans paid just over $5,100 in the Great Christmas Aid Orchestra auction to get the chance to rename a roundabout in Jaworzno, which they've dubbed "Jeff Hanneman's Circle Pit."
The sign, which was unveiled last Thursday, adds in smaller print, "unforgettable Slayer guitarist."
Another sign in the area explains the origins of the roundabout's new name, adding that it will stay "Jeff Hanneman's Circle Pit" for a year. Hanneman died of liver failure last May.
